Apartment rules are not uniform. A landlord, co-op, condo, managing agent, building department, fire-safety requirement or project condition may affect what can be installed and how the work must be performed. PartWall therefore reviews the actual room and the building’s written requirements instead of promising universal approval.

The review should cover light, ventilation, egress, room use, ceiling and floor conditions, door clearance, stability, elevator access, insurance, work hours and delivery protection. PartWall can coordinate its quoted scope, but building and legal determinations remain with the appropriate owner, board, professional or authority.

PartWall Is Designed for Removal and Reconfiguration

PartWall is a made-to-order wall system intended to create privacy and flexible space without presenting itself as conventional permanent drywall construction. The layout, support approach, door, finish and installation method are confirmed for the specific room before a private quote is issued.

An honest caveat: a room divider cannot by itself create a code-legal bedroom. Window, egress, light, ventilation, dimensions and building requirements must be evaluated separately. NYC Finishes & Floor Tolerances

PartWall comes in premium architectural finishes — oak, walnut, matte black, fluted, felt, and concrete-look — so the partition reads as built-in millwork, not a temporary kit.

NYC apartment floors are notoriously unlevel, often ½ inch or more across a 10-foot run. PartWall is designed for floors up to ½ inch out of level, using hidden leveling adjusters in the base shoe that fine-tune the fit without visible shimming or cutting. All floor contact points use non-marring TPU, silicone, or cork pads, and no drilling is required — so the installation stays deposit-conscious.

Delivery to All Five Boroughs

PartWall ships flat-pack via freight in elevator-friendly boxes to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island — no oversized panels to wrangle through tight NYC hallways and stairwells. A typical 8-foot configuration with a swing door assembles in about 1 to 2 hours with two people and standard Allen keys.
